Thorogood offers durable full-grain leather boots in a moc toe work boot design that are comfortable and tough enough for demanding jobs. The boots are available in three colors: Tobacco (804-4200), Trail Crazyhorse (804-4575), and Midnight Black (804-6201).

Sole material

The MaxWear Wedge™ Traction Outsole on these boots flexes better than other work boot outsoles. It absorbs impacts, protects your feet and ankles, and ensures stability while working on challenging surfaces, such as loose gravel or wet and oily areas. The outsole meets ASTM F3445-21 slip-resistance standards.

Outer material

The boots feature steel toes, offering protection from impact and compression hazards on the job site. Despite the added safety features, these boots remain light and flexible, making them one of the best choices for men in dangerous jobs, meeting ASTM F2413-18 safety toe standards.

Additional features

In addition to the steel toes and slip-resistant outsoles, these boots also offer EH resistance, meeting ASTM F2413-18 electrical hazard resistance safety standards. They come with a removable Ultimate Shock Absorption Footbed featuring a Poron Comfort Cushion Insole, providing dual-density cushioning for a comfortable wear.

From the brand's history

In 1892, Albert H. Weinbrenner opened a cobblery in Milwaukee with his partner, Joseph Peffer, focusing on serving "Jobbing" trades. The company evolved over the years, with milestones such as the introduction of the "Job-fitted" concept in 1917, and the shift to safety footwear production in 1938.

The Weinbrenner company gained recognition as the official supplier of boots to the U.S. Army during World War I, and later shifted to producing military footwear during World War II. In more recent history, the company marked its 100th anniversary in 1992 and celebrated 125 years in 2017 with a renewed commitment to quality and innovation.

Looking forward, Weinbrenner continues to expand its offerings with new product lines and plans for growth, including the opening of a new factory in Merrill, WI, and the introduction of Thorogood's Square Toe Wellingtons as the first western wear product in 2022.

Thorogood's safety toe boots, available with either steel or composite toes, meet strict standards for impact and compression testing. These boots provide ample clearance and protection to ensure safety for the wearer.

Electric Hazard

Constructed with electric shock-resisting soles and heels, these boots can endure up to 18,000 volts at 60 Hz for one minute. They prevent current flow or leakage in excess of 1.0 milliamperes under dry conditions.

Slip-Resisting

Thorogood's safety toe boots adhere to the ASTM F3445-21 industry criteria for slip-resisting footwear, offering stability and traction on various surfaces.

Oil-Resisting Outsole

The boots feature an oil-resisting outsole, designed to withstand and minimize damage from exposure to oil.
